NHL Feature Wedding: Toronto Maple Leafs’ Mitch Marner & Stephanie LaChance tie the knot at Peller Estates Winery in Niagara-On-The-Lake

Stephanie and Mitch Marner were married at Peller Estates Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake this past summer during the NHL’s off-season. Thanks to the excellent planning of MUSE Event Co., the Toronto Maple Leaf star and his bride provided guests with a mini-destination experience in one of Ontario’s beautiful wine regions.

Mitch Marner & Stephanie LaChance’s wedding was more than a one day affair, it was a weekend full of fun and experiences.

In the leadup to the wedding day, events included classic wine tastings, golf (for all of those off season NHL players) and delicious culinary adventures throughout the Niagara region, with the couples closest family and friends.

The formal celebrations began on Friday, with an intimate rehearsal dinner among the vinyards of Two Sisters Winery, using local vendors such as Bloom & Co. and Simply Beautiful Decor. Guests were then officially welcomed at a kick-off party on the winery’s back terrace, with signature cocktails, farm to table offerings, stone-oven pizzas and live music. Guests took home welcome bags with goodies designed by Paper & Poste, the official stationer of the weekend, along with a bottle of Peller Estates’ sparkling rosé and of course some of the couple’s favorite treats.

MUSE Event Co. designed and planned the entire week, working closely with the Marners, for two years, to execute their vision.

The inspiration for the weekend was Napa Valley meets Niagara using an interior design approach. Did we mention we’re a fan of wine-country weddings? Here’s what planner Ellie Eccleton, from MUSE Event Co. had to say about curating the wedding weekend:

“We wanted Mitch & Steph’s guests to experience the relaxed and laid-back feeling of Niagara-On-The-Lake, while also experiencing the refined sense of elegance and personality that each property had to offer. Working with three different venues – Two Sisters, Riverbend and Peller Estates – allowed us to incorporate the unique creative elements of the spaces into the design of each event. Multiple properties also required a tent, which for us is a blank canvas that we can customize from the ground up for our clients. Home interiors and restaurant-style dining was the lead inspiration in our main reception tent with banquette seating, couches, harvest tables, framed table numbers and pillows—things you would often see in a home environment. As Steph and Mitch love to host in their own home, our ultimate goal was to recreate this for them and their wedding guests.”  – Ellie Eccleton of MUSE Event Co

What did Toronto Maple Leafs Mitch Marner’s wedding day look like?

The wedding ceremony was held at Riverbend Inn Hotel and no amount of rain in the morning could hold back the beautifully conceptualized ceremony by Rachel A Clingen, which overlooked the vines of Peller Estates. MUSE Event Co. also worked closely alongside Rachel A. Clingen and her team to develop the beautiful tent environment within the Peller Estates landscape for dinner and dancing. The stunning clear-top tent provided by Premier Tents was carefully draped in mink fabric, fresh greenery, along with suspended chandeliers to allow the perfect amount of sunshine and stars to kiss the dance floor.

Sole Power Productions played into the evening with their incredibly talented band, ensuring the dance floor was packed from the start. The DJ carried the night through to the after-party, where guests donned custom Zeus jerseys (by Canadian Custom Apparel) in honor of the couple’s beloved chocolate lab. The night was topped off with midnight grilled cheese, provided by the Meltdown Cheesery food truck
