SINGAPORE — Hard rock icons Deep Purple will be bringing its headbanging anthem “Smoke On The Water” to Singapore when they perform at Fort Canning Park on 1 May, as part of LAMC Productions’ Singapore Rockfest 2024 concert series.

The British quintet, formed in 1967, last held a concert in Singapore back in 2013. They have put out 22 albums, many of which were definitive classics of the rock genre, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

Their current line-up consists of three members of their 1970s heyday: drummer Ian Paice, bassist Roger Glover and singer Ian Gillan. The other members are keyboardist Don Airey and guitarist Simon McBride.

Tickets will go on sale for LAMC members at 10am on 14 August, while the public can purchase the tickets via Sistic from 10am on 16 August. Ticket prices have yet to be announced.

LAMC is also organizing two other rock concerts which are not part of the Singapore Rock fest series. On 4 October, Canadian band Sum 41 – known for pop-punk hits such as “Fat Lip” and “In Too Deep” – will play a gig at The Star Theatre as part of their global farewell tour.

Then on 29 November, American band Incubus will be bringing their hard-rock hits “Wish You Were Here” and “Drive” to Singapore when they perform at The Star Theatre as part of their Asia Tour, which also includes stops in Tokyo, Jakarta and Manila.
