“I got to sit on a couch and drink tea with Angus and talk about his career.”

Not that many bands have gotten the chance to open for AC/DC. And this is by no means a simple task. Nonetheless, the guys from Buckcherry did a great job back at the beginning of the 2000s. And, as expected, they’ve gotten the chance to learn a thing or two from one of the most influential bands of all time.

The lesson? It was about humility. As Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd revealed in a chat with Australian Musician, he and the rest of his band learned “how to be humble and really cool.” It was one particular gesture that really proved their greatness. The vocalist added (via Blabbermouth):

“And those guys, they were very humble and sweet and answered all our questions. [They] let us have full sound on their P.A., which doesn’t happen. Mostly, headliners only give you so much sound so that when they come out, they sound bigger.”

“AC/DC was, like, ‘You can have full P.A. Do whatever you want.’ They were very gracious and cool, and that’s what we wanted to be. So that’s what I learned.”

Honestly, hardly any band would ever be confident enough to do such a thing. And apart from that, despite being some of the greatest names in rock ‘n’ roll, Angus Young and Brian Johnson were so down-to-earth and accessible.

“I got to sit on a couch and drink tea with Angus and talk about his career,” Josh added. “And Brian Johnson was walking around the room telling jokes. And I was, like, ‘Wow, this is fucking so amazing.'”

“Because sometimes you meet musicians and… I give everybody the benefit of the doubt. Not everybody is in a great headspace every day. So sometimes people can be a little bit not what you thought they were gonna be, and you’ve gotta give ’em a second, and maybe next time it’ll be different. And I always do that with everybody. But when we met those guys, they were the same all the time. And that’s what I loved about them.”
