In an interview with LifeMinute (via Blabbermouth), Rob Halford from Judas Priest discussed that his cancer remains in remission, four years after his initial diagnosis.
Previously, in 2021, Halford had shared with Heavy Consequence that he had successfully battled cancer and was in remission. He remarked, “I went through a little cancer fight a year ago, and thank God, it’s now in remission. It happened during the lockdown, so I believe things occur for a reason in terms of timing. I’m incredibly grateful to be at this stage of my life, still doing what I love.”
He has now updated that he continues to be in remission following his treatment.
He shared, “I always take the chance to thank the Lord for still being here, as well as my incredible medical team. And folks, be proactive—make sure you get your blood work and PSA [prostate-specific antigen] levels checked. I was amazed by the efficiency, love, and care that health workers provide to each of us.
I had my prostate removed,” he continued. “After that, I underwent medication and follow-up treatment, which revealed additional issues. This led to two months of radiation therapy. You do what you need to do. The key is to remain optimistic and stay positive.”
He added, “I love my family and my healthcare team, who all want the best for me. Their support helps you push through. For anyone struggling right now, hold on to that heavy metal faith. With the right care, diligence, and attention, you’ll make it through.”
