The New Zealand Warriors have announced the re-signing of three players as they plan for the future.

Ahead of Sunday’s match against the Dolphins, the club confirmed that Kalani Going and Tanner Stowers-Smith will stay on development contracts for the 2025 NRL season. Additionally, outside back Motu Pasikala has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Kalani Going, who made his NRL debut last season, played one game for the Warriors but excelled in the NSW Cup, where he was named the club’s NSW Cup Player of the Year in 2023.

Tanner Stowers-Smith, a talented second-rower, captained the team in the SG Ball Cup earlier this season and has since moved up to the NSW Cup. He will also remain eligible for the SG Ball Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup teams next season.

Motu Pasikala, who signed the longest deal of the trio, is an explosive outside back with a background in schoolboy rugby union from Liston College in Auckland’s First XV competition.

At just 18, Pasikala has competed in the SG Ball Cup, Jersey Flegg Cup, and NSW Cup this season.

“Kalani and Tanner have both been exceptional for us in the New South Wales Cup this season, while Motu is a tremendously exciting talent who has progressed through our pathways to make a mark in reserve grade,” said Andrew McFadden, the New Zealand Warriors’ general manager of recruitment, pathways, and development, in a statement.

“They exemplify the positive outcomes we’re seeing from our development system.

“Kalani’s experience and consistency are crucial as he supports the younger players, while Tanner and Motu have seized every opportunity presented to them.”
