As the LSU Football team wraps up its preparation for the USC Trojans and gets ready to travel to Las Vegas, the biggest thing you can wish for is health. The Tigers have dealt with both the stomach bug and the injury bug for a portion of LSU’s summer camp. The LSU Football team luckily avoided major injuries thus far however, the Tigers could still be affected in the opening game.

The team had injury scares as Whit Weeks, Miles Frazier, Chris Hilton Jr, and Jelani Watkins have all dealt with lower body injuries which have sidelined them.

Today, Brian Kelly gave an update on his team and the injuries they’re battling with some positive news and some concerning news. Brian Kelly described Miles Frazier as probable while Chris Hilton Jr was questionable. The Redshirt Junior is currently dealing with a bone bruise according to Brian Kelly.

After recording 13 catches for 225 yards and two touchdowns in 2023, Chris Hilton was set ot have a massive season as a starter. In the Reliaquest Bowl with Garrett Nussmeier at quarterback, Hilton caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown which further built the excitement.

If Hilton isn’t able to go on Sunday, the LSU Football team has a ton of receivers ready to step up and make an impact. At the Z receiver position, Zavion Thomas is seen as the direct backup and he’ll already be a big piece as the Tigers best returner. If the Tigers want to play someone else, the receivers are pretty interchangeable and a player like Aaron Anderson, Shelton Sampson, or Kyle Parker could slide into the role.

Just get us to Kickoff

As the Tigers continue to deal with injury scares at practice, can we please just get to Sunday already? This LSU Football team has loads of talent across the board, and there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the group. Nothing would hurt more than if this team’s potential was ruined by an injury in the lead up to the season as LSU really can earn a College Football Playoff bid
