AC Milan and France striker Olivier Giroud is keen to join Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC this summer.

Giroud, 37, is still going strong for club and country but has a decision to make in the coming months with his contract in Italy set to expire.

And ESPN say the veteran forward is ready to bow out of European football and head to the US to link up with his old international team-mate Hugo Lloris on the West Coast.

LAFC picked up the former Tottenham goalkeeper for free in January and reportedly hold Giroud’s discovery rights within the MLS — giving them priority should he want to move Stateside.

Despite being in the latter stages of his career, the former Arsenal and Chelsea goalscorer has been fit and firing for the Rossoneri this season.

He has bagged 14 times in all competitions, including 12 strikes in Serie A and once in the Champions League.

Giroud still features at international level too and remains part of Didier Deschamps’ squad ahead of the European Championship in Germany later this year.

As a World Cup, Champions League and FA Cup winner, France’s all-time top scorer will be keen to continue winning silverware in the US.

LAFC have reached the MLS Cup final in the last two seasons and will hope to strengthen their bid to win it in 2024 by signing Giroud.

At international level, he lifted the 2018 World Cup with France. He also represented the country at two other World Cups and three European Championships.

LAFC has reached the MLS Cup in the past two seasons, defeating the Philadelphia Union in the final in 2022 before suffering defeat to the Columbus Crew last time out.

The club has plenty of roster flexibility heading into the summer, with two designated player spots currently open.
